302 Brushe Sets for Gnu Image Manipulation Program Source: the interwebs Harvested: March 2010 Here are 301 brush SETS for GIMP, meaning that there are around 301 files in this directory but each file will almost certainly contain a number of brushes in them. So if you installed them all into GIMP you'd probably end up with almost 3000 brushes, which could be overwhelming, so install these with care. We (the Multimedia Sprint team) tried to keep the name of the brush author as much as possible but sometimes these just weren't available. Let it be said in general that Deviant Art (deviantart.com) is God's Gift to digital artists everywhere. Keep up the great work, deviants, and thank you! TO INSTALL: ----------- Once again, I have instructions only for Linux because it's all I know and frankly all I care about, but with a little flexibility you should be able to adapt these instructions to any OS. To install, simply copy the brush file (.gbr or .abr) into the brushes directory in your GIMP hidden folder. The GIMP hidden folder lives in two places (where x.y are version numbers): /usr/share/gimp/x.y/brushes/ #if you place them here, they will show in GIMP for ALL users or /home/username/.gimp-x.y/brushes/ #if you place them here, only you get to use them That's it. As always, keep in mind that people worked hard on them there fancy brushes, and if you can credit them or make some kind of human contact with them and let them know that their work has been appreciated, it would probably mean a lot. xoxo the Secret Order of Linux Multimedia Sprinters
