These are icon sets from two very well-known icon projects.  They are unique in the world of one-billion-random-icons because they actually provide a full set of icons for pretty much anything you can think to have on, in, or attached to your computer.  Plus they are major Free Software projects with a home on the web that isn't going anywhere any time soon and to which you can go to help out if you are so inspired.
