If you’re an Avatar: The Last Airbender fan and didn’t already know, they’re making a movie. I just found the teaser trailer last week. If you’re not an Avatar fan and you dig fantasy, check it out. It’s by far and away one of the best anime style shows that I’ve seen — rivaled only by Full Metal Alchemy, which is way more confusing — and it’s good fare for the kids.

If you’re already an Avatar fan and already knew about the teaser trailer, I hope you’ll forgive me for my late posting of the news. I knew there was a movie in the works, but just stumbled upon the trailer recently.

The much beloved Maurice Sendak book is coming to life this fall in a theater near you! I didn’t even know this was a project. I remember this book vividly from my childhood. As I’m sure is the case with many people of my age, it was one of my favorites. I’m really excited about this film, but as is usual when I hear that they’re making a movie of something I love, I have a sick feeling in my stomach. I’ll go see it and try to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I managed to be disgusted with LotR: FotR, so I know I’m pretty darned hard to please.
